Maria Shriver, Founder of the Women’s Alzheimer’s Movement Prevention and Research Center at Cleveland Clinic and Chief Visionary and Strategic Advisor to the Cleveland Clinic Comprehensive Women’s Health and Research Center, led a transformative wellness retreat focused on brain health and Alzheimer’s disease prevention at Maravilla Los Cabos. The exclusive gathering, held November 14-17, 2024, brought together 72 women for an immersive educational experience
Distinguished speakers shared their expertise, including Cleveland Clinic Chief of Staff Beri Ridgeway, MD, a gynecologist with expertise in women’s health; psychotherapist and bestselling author Lori Gottlieb; neurologist and culinary artist Ayesha Sherzai, MD; sex therapist Emily Morse, PhD; journalist and caregiving advocate Leeza Gibbons; women’s poker champion Lena Evans; and well-being educator Devi Brown. They all lectured and led workshops and mingled with the 72 guests over brain-healthy meals.
Now in its third year, WAM’s Women’s Wellness Weekend has evolved into a comprehensive health resource, offering practical strategies for cognitive wellness and holistic living. Participants engaged in diverse activities including yoga, Pilates, meditation, brain-healthy cooking demonstrations, varied workout sessions, and daily hikes. The intimate setting fostered meaningful connections among attendees, who departed with deepened knowledge of Alzheimer’s disease prevention and concrete strategies to enhance their cognitive health.
